The inserts were designed for the various sample sizes that were shipped out. I created designs depending on the samples sent and their sizes along with the type of box they would be mailed in. The most common were 30ml bottles and 100ml flasks.
These samples needed secure packaging to ensure safe delivery of the glass bottles while keeping them cool. The designs were created by taking the measurements of the product and cutting out their shape using a cutting machine. I added flaps to the flask inserts so that the cut would "hug" the product and prevent it from moving during travels but not enough to complicate removal by hand.
The material chosen was a bristol board to prevent the condensation on the product from warping the insert shape and structure.
This is an example of one of the insert blueprints for the various designs I created. All of the boxes contained a stage underneath to elevate the products to the top of the box. This was to prevent any movement during transit and to allow the products to be front and center when opened.
